Paul Maria Baumgarten, who lived for a long time at the priests' college of Campo Santo Teutonico, wrote the biography of the important Christian archaeologist Giovanni Battista de Rossi (1822-1894) in 1892 for his 70th birthday. But he did not publish many episodes from de Rossi's life for certain reasons. This is what the lecture is about: "Anékdota aus Baumgartens Biographie des Archäologen Giovanni Battista de Rossi".
