The third series of lectures on selected treasures from the Ambrosian Library in Milan begins on 24 February.
On 11 February, Rodney Aist, course director at St George's College, the Anglican pilgrim centre in Jerusalem, will speak at the Jerusalem Institute of the Görres Society at 8.15 p.m. about pilgrims to Jerusalem before the Crusades(his book).
From 27 February to 4 October, the New Palace in Ingolstadt will host a special exhibition conceived by Priscilla Pfannmüller on Elector Maximilian II Emanuel of Bavaria. Britta Kägler (Passau) will give the opening lecture on 26 February on the topic of ‘Max Emanuel and his wives’.
The Chair of Church History in Augsburg, under the aegis of Prof. Dr. Matthias Simperl, is holding a workshop on 9–10 February on the Collectio Quesnelliana, a dogmatic collection of texts from the 6th century.
On 4 February, the Sangalli Institute is organising an opportunity to meet and discuss the state of the art in the field of religious order studies, with particular attention to some important sources from the modern age. It will be a multidisciplinary initiative involving historians, church historians, economists, accountants and so on.

The Working Group for Hagiographic Issues of the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart is organising a comprehensive conference on medieval monastic literature from 16 to 18 April. The theme is: ‘Legend – Miracle – Sermon: Monastic collection practices and the modelling of religious ideals in the textual cultures of the Middle Ages’.
On 25 January, a ceremony in honour of Joseph Görres (1776-1948) will take place at the historic Görres House in Koblenz.
Of particular importance is the conference on the young Görres organised by Dr Sabine Gruber and Prof. Georg Braungart at the State Library Centre on 26/27 January.
The latest newsletter from the Görres Society focuses primarily on the Society's big anniversary, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary: 1876-2026!
To mark the 100th anniversary of Monsignor Hugh O'Flaherty's ordination, the Irish Post Office has issued a special stamp. O'Flaherty lived at the German seminary Campo Santo Teutonico for almost ten years and, during the German occupation in 1943/44, brought around 6,500 people, including numerous Jews, to safety from the Nazis.
