Prelate Dr Peter Klasvogt from the Archdiocese of Paderborn will be inaugurated by Bishop Dr Bertram Meier (Augsburg) on 14 September at 10 a.m. as the new rector of Campo Santo Teutonico and the Archconfraternity, a position he has held since June. Peter Klasvogt has an excellent reputation, and the new report on katholisch.de is noteworthy.

The plans and steps already taken are ambitious, but also precisely tailored and necessary. They fit in with the dynamics and hopes of the institution. The kairos, with Pope Leo XIV, to bring the great Catholic social tradition to the fore, is more than plausible. Let us not forget that social scientists have always been part of the college, such as the eminent social ethicist Prelate Franz Hitze (Münster), who was a member of the college from 1878 to 1880. Incidentally, there is also an economics and social sciences section of the Görres Society.
The 150th anniversary of the Priestly College in 2026 may be an occasion to reaffirm and promote the diversity and vitality of the College, which some have declared dead. History can repeat itself. For even the legendary Rector Erwin Gatz did nothing else: When he became rector in 1975, he immediately set about preparing for the college's 100th anniversary in 1976 (incidentally, his predecessor, Rector Bernhard Hanssler from Freiburg, who is unfortunately too often forgotten, had already begun preparations for the anniversary, and Gatz was able to continue his work).
