The Institute

Founded in 1888, the Roman Institute of the Görres Society (RIGG) is the well-known academic centre and foreign institute of the Bonn-based Görres Society.

Following the complete renovation of the church of Campo Santo Teutonico in the 1970s, Cardinal Degenhardt (Paderborn) blessed the new organ and Cardinal Döpfner (Munich), as chairman of the German Bishops' Conference, consecrated the new altar on 7 December 1975.

To mark this occasion, a ceremony will be held in the church on 7 December at 5 p.m., featuring a lecture and concert by Alexander Pointner (Munich). On 8 December at 10 a.m., as every year on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Archconfraternity will celebrate its patronal feast.
