Simona Candia is an archaeologist, a licensed tour guide and a lecturer for trainee tour guides. Since 2015, she has been guiding visitors around Rome and sharing her knowledge of the history, art and archaeology of the Eternal City.
She particularly enjoys taking her guests to lesser-known places off the beaten track and offering new perspectives on Rome’s cultural heritage. Alongside her work, she is involved in provenance research and issues relating to the restitution of cultural property looted during the Second World War. She is a member of ICOM and the author of academic articles on the protection of cultural property and cultural heritage crime.
