Marco R. Bettoni Pojaghi, who had been a member of the Roman Institute of the Görres Society since 2020, died unexpectedly in Rome. He passed away on 10 April at the age of 64.
He was known for his ‘Centro Studi Fondo Bettoni Pojaghi’ at Via Bartolomeo Eustachio 7 in Rome, which promotes German-Italian cultural exchange. Bettoni Pojaghi was a highly educated man with a wide range of literary interests and a keen cultural awareness. He felt a particular connection to the German language and culture in Italy and wanted to bring it closer to his compatriots. This led him to write a small Italian book about individual personalities buried in the German cemetery. The RIGG has lost a good friend.
