Father Augustinus Sander celebrates his silver jubilee of profession

On 8 September 2024, the house community of Campo Santo Teutonico celebrated the 25th anniversary of profession of Father Augustinus Sander OSB, Benedictine monk of Maria Laach Abbey.

Fr Sander, spiritual director of the college, has been working full-time at the Dicastery for the Promotion of Christian Unity since 2019. He has been the contact person at the RIGG since 2021 for the Martin Chemnitz Scholarship as part of the project ‘Studies on the reception of the Council of Trent in contemporary Lutheranism’. Two scholarship holders are currently working on their dissertations as part of the Chemnitz project.

The main celebrant and preacher at the festive mass was the President of the Beuron Benedictine Congregation, Abbot Dr Franziskus Berzdorf OSB (Beuron). The concelebrants also included the Superior of Maria Laach, Prior-Administrator Petrus Nowack OSB, and Cardinal Kurt Koch was among the well-wishers.
