Since 1 September, Sebastian Grünbaum has been the new RIGG scholarship holder for the Martin Chemnitz Scholarship. In his doctoral thesis, he is focussing on the reception of the Council of Trent (1545-1563).

Sebastian Grünbaum is Finnish (* 1985 in Helsinki) and was ordained for the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Diocese of Finland on 17 September 2011. He has been studying for a doctorate at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis (USA) since 2022 and is now expected to spend two years in Rome as part of this programme. As he speaks excellent German, he is ideally placed to study at Campo Santo, especially as the Görres Society has edited the Acts of the Council of Trent. In addition, the entire baroque literature from the time of the Council of Trent can be found in the other libraries in Rome.
