The Institute

Founded in 1888, the Roman Institute of the Görres Society (RIGG) is the well-known academic centre and foreign institute of the Bonn-based Görres Society.
Donations And Foundation

Prof. Dr Paolo Liverani will be presenting his current topographical and archaeological studies at the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Regensburg. On Tuesday, 13 May 2025, at 6 pm c.t. in Lecture Hall 23, he will speak on the topic: "The Lateran area in Rome between Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages. Results of the Transformed project".

In the current summer semester, Dr Sascha Priester (Munich/Regensburg/Rome), RIGG consultant for archaeology, is also holding a course in Classical Archaeology there on the topic: ‘Visual language and architectural context from the Republic to the High Imperial period: obelisks, arches of honour and column monuments in Rome’.
