During my Easter stay in Berlin-Steglitz, I came across a commemorative plaque on an outside window of the town hall there, which reads:

"On 4 November 1901, the 'Committee for School Trips' was founded here in the Ratskeller and was given the name Wandervogel. The German youth movement emerged from this original cell".

At the conference "Cult of the People", various papers related the phenomenon of the youth movement to the phenomenon of the liturgical movement. For there are definitely overlaps here, insofar as the Liturgical Movement began as a kind of Catholic youth movement.

The conference "Cult of the People" will be published in autumn by the Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft. The conference volume "Ort der Zuflucht und personeller Netzwerke" has already been published there.
