The book edited by Yvonne Dohna Schlobitten, Claudia Bertling Biaggini and Claudia Cierivia on the Raphael conference held at RIGG in November 2020 is now available from the publishing house Schnell und Steiner or in bookshops.

Book

This conference volume takes a fresh look at the painter Raphael, who died in 1520, in order to appreciate him as a painter of love. His main work, the Transfiguration of Christ, is interpreted in more detail alongside his mythological and pagan pictorial themes. Raphael's credo and his art of heavenly and earthly love are scientifically explored from different perspectives.
